Prayer for the College of Cardinals and for the Conclave to elect a new Pope
(Invoking Venerable Catherine McAuley)
God of Mercy and Wisdom,
In this time of discernment and hope,
we lift up the College of Cardinals to You.
Grant them hearts open to Your Spirit,
minds rooted in truth,
and souls ready to choose a shepherd
after Your own heart.
May they be guided by justice, compassion, and fidelity to the Gospel of Christ.
We invoke the intercession of Venerable Catherine McAuley,
who lived your mercy with courage and grace.
May her example inspire the Cardinals
to seek a leader who brings comfort to the suffering,
unity to the Church, and light to the world.
O Lord, raise up a Pope who
walks humbly, serves faithfully,
and leads with love – a sign of Your mercy
for all peoples and nations.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ,
our Lord and Good Shepherd,
through the guidance of the Holy Spirit,
and in the heart of Mary, Mother of the Church.
Amen.
