Mercy Hospice provides a range of specialist community palliative care and hospice services for people living in central Tāmaki Makaurau who are facing life limiting illnesses. Combining clinical expertise and compassion, Mercy Hospice provides support, education, spiritual care and counselling to the patient and their whānau and carers to enable them to manage difficulties as they arise. Quality of life is of utmost importance and while the Hospice has a specialist in-patient unit, more than 80% of care to patients is delivered in their homes or community. With over 120 staff and 550 volunteers, Mercy Hospice is able to care for over 1,200 patients every year, free of charge.
