Mercy Governance: Care for our Common Home from a Mercy Perspective

The webinar will tell the story of the Institute of Sisters of Mercy Australia and Papua New Guinea (ISMAPNG) experience working in Integral Ecology over the past 10 years. It includes the highlights, the shifts, the challenges and changes in direction over that time as the world changes, we ourselves change, and scholarship in the field develops. There will also be time for reflecting and sharing what arises from this story as we consider our own context in these times.

Sally Neaves is from Bathurst NSW and is the Integral Ecology Animator for the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea.  As part of this role, she lead’s the Institute’s efforts for the 7 Laudato Si’ goals including projects such as post-disaster response “Eugowra – Slow the Flow” with farmers and the Integral Ecology Emerging Leaders Fellowship.  Sally is the convenor of the Blayney Eco Hub, a parish-based Earth care demonstration/education site set up in a presbytery in the Diocese of Bathurst.  She leads ecological theology programs and facilitates retreats.  She is also a permaculture teacher and co-designer of the 10,000 for 10 tree planting and tree protection initiative for Catholic Religious Australia.
